The October Sally’s Baking Challenge is a fun & simple way to use all your fresh apples. I chose this recipe for the October Baking Challenge because it’s quick, can be eaten right out of the oven, only requires a few ingredients, serves a small family, can easily be halved or doubled, and highlights the natural flavor of apples. And it’s the perfect opportunity to use your apples if you go apple picking this month. Kids will love to help and it’s a recipe free from common allergens like eggs, gluten (use GF oats), and nuts (pecans are optional).

- Bake & Comment: Bake the recipe during that month.
- Send: Share your recipe photo with us via email: [email protected]. By emailing your recipe photo, you are automatically entered in the giveaway. For a bonus entry, leave a review on the challenge recipe. Instagram direct messages are hard to track, so please email your recipe photo instead. September 2020 Sally’s Baking Challenge Recipe: Cinnamon Swirl Quick Bread
I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS…
We had over 2,000 participants in September, the MOST we’ve ever had since I launched Sally’s Baking Challenge 3 years ago. We received dozens of entry emails every day and the wonderful reviews on this recipe were continuously rolling in. Thank you so much for taking the time to enter this baking challenge!
The cinnamon swirl bread was certainly an easier recipe than past challenges, but I wanted you to perfect a classic quick bread recipe like this. It’s an “anytime” recipe you can keep in your back pocket that will serve you well when you need something (anything!) sweet and homemade. Some baked this recipe into muffins & mini loaves, some added apples or a chai spice blend, and some baked the recipe into a bundt cake. No matter how you baked it, one thing remained consistent: that sticky and thick cinnamon swirl.
Talk about baking perfection.
